Carolyn Stamper-Clark finished 2nd in the C15, 2016 – and thoroughly enjoyed herself, saying: ‘Clwydian 15- What an amazing route! This goes down as my favourite race to date. The scenery was incredible. The marshals were fantastic, encouraging and full of smiles. Well marked….. And the pub owners were very friendly too! And!, it’s the furthest I’ve ever ran, yey! Will definitely be back…’

Jessica Sznerch made the C30 her first Ultra and said ‘Thanks for a fantastic race today Joe- so well organised and well marked (Even I managed to stay on course!!) really enjoyed the 30- my first distance over half marathon! Can’t quite believe it! Thanks again also to the wonderful marshals throughout the course who kept smiling despite the drizzle and fog- youre all amazing!!’

PLEASE NOTE: All distances at this event will be pre-entry only. Our desire to keep the events personable and friendly, coupled with the limited parking arrangements at the venue means that numbers are strictly limited.

The Clwydian 5 is for those who want a challenging run in beautiful surroundings, but don’t fancy the longer equivalents which accompany this race. The route starts and finishes in the back garden of the Golden Lion Inn, Llangynhafal and involves 1633ft of ascent over it’s 5 miles. The route will be well marked and marshalled throughout and is a great chance for those that like the shorter distances to get involved in this little festival of running in the Clwydian Hills!

All participants are to register between 8-9.45am for a 10am start at the Sports Pavilion in the centre of the village. The Sports Pavilion field is both the start and finish point for the race, as well as being race HQ.

The course is wonderfully scenic, the undulating route taking you to the villages of Llangynhafal, Gellifor, Llanychan and Llanynys before finishing where you started, in Llandyrnog village. Despite the undulations, there are some very fast sections which explains the many PB’s that have been achieved on the route. Water/refreshment stations are positioned every 5km on the route, with a feed station at halfway.

Chris Pratt enjoyed the 2015 edition of the VOC Half, stating:
Thanks guys for today’s event. Loved every step. My 15th half of 2015 and a new PB to complete the year. Brilliant, friendly and cheery marshals and a well organised event in a lovely part of the country.’
